April 2016 Barefoot in the Park

About the play

Written by Neil Simon, one of the world’s most successful playwrights who has had dozens of plays and films produced. Four of his plays have been performed by the society before.

Premiered on Broadway in 1963, this play is a romantic comedy focussing on a pair of newlyweds as they begin married life in a Manhattan Brownstone. Paul is a straight-laced attorney while Corrie is a far more spontaneous free spirit. As the young couple contend with a lack of heat, a leaking sky-light, several long flights of stairs, an odd-ball neighbour and Corrie’s well meaning mother, they must reconcile their own personal differences in how they approach life’s challenges.

Performed in Morganstown Village Hall from April 21st to 23rd 2016 by special arrangement with Samuel French Ltd.
