Festival Eco-Fun 2007: The Slow Planet (Saturday May 5th)

Saturday May 5th – Old Church Rooms. Radyr to host first ever visit to Wales of the Green Energy Machine.

Too busy to worry about being green? This Saturday Radyr and Morganstown Festival’s Eco-Fun event is happening at the Old Church Rooms. The event combines inspiration on being green with fun. The special guests will be the National Energy Foundation bringing their Green Energy Machine to Wales for the first time.

GEM demonstrates exciting examples of wind and solar technologies, which can assist towards an understanding of RENEWABLE ENERGY and the need to reduce CO2 emissions. The displays include a wind turbine (350 Watts), a solar water heating demonstration and an 800 Watt photovoltaic array with education on climate change and sustainable development.

More about the visit and the day can be found at www.ecofunday.co.uk – a family event with stuff for young people by young people, including live music, geo-sculpture, scrap-art workshop, games and rodeo bull-ride. There’s a cafe with some slow and healthy food too. The message is to ‘Slow down, take a break and get passionate about saving the planet.’
