Old Church Rooms wins Cardiff in Bloom
Due to the fantastic work done by Norman Clewer, the Old Church Rooms has been awarded first prize in the
“Best kept Community Garden”
section of this year’s Cardiff in Bloom competition.
Congratulations to Norman for all his hard work. The gardens looked really stunning.
Other prizes won in the competition were:
Norman Clewer (again) 1st place in the Radyr & Morganstown Ward for his own garden in Windsor Avenue within Class 1 (Best front garden);
Claire Thompson 2nd place in the same category for her garden in Maes yr Orchis;
John Williams, of Cefn Coch, 1st place in Class 6 (Best front garden, first time entrant).
The standard of these gardens is such that John Williams was also awarded first prize and Norman Clewer second prize in the City Finals for the classes entered.
These cover all Wards in the city.
The associated pictures (above), taken by Mick Sullivan, show the Old Church Rooms garden and others which all added to the spirit of Cardiff in Bloom.
